Hitchhiking at -28°C
Finaly I'm in Sibiria! In Salechard. Together with my best friend Steffi, who joins me for up to 3 weeks, we just did our first "extreme" hitchhiking, today 25 km at -28°C! However, the people here are really nice! We had to take 2 cars and the total waiting time was about 3 min!
But thats just the beginning! Aftertomorrow we will head out in the tundra, to meet local nomades living in chums (tents) of deer hairs! And after that spend some days in a shelter in the wild of the tundra. Will for sure be a great adventure! We finally have the cloths that are nessesary: warm until -50°C! Today at -28°C I was swetting when we were walking! And to make everything save: We have a local contact, and he has a snow mobile. We will be in contact with him by mobile phone (yes, even in the tundra you have phone reception) :-) He speeks only Russian, but that's not a problem anymore. Our Russian is just eneugh. I meanwhile even did some phone calls only in Russian
